Throughout a broad 30-year career as a lighting design professional, Geoffrey Mance perfected many disciplines including the arts, electrical engineering, illumination design and consultation. His comprehensive skill base awarded him recognition from Australian and international architects, designers and clients.

Working with both large and niche boutique firms earned the reputation for bespoke, creative solutions for lighting; the initial up lighting of the trees lining Collins Street, Melbourne in the early 1980's was an example of his earlier work. Tolarno's, Langham, Carousel and The George are amongst hundreds of spaces that have been illuminated in a career that sowed the seeds to establish and further younger designers in a city well known for design.

His untimely passing in February 2007 came as a shock to many in the industry. More so was his express wish that his dedicated staff continue the work of the studio.

Where to take a studio with such a rich history? Onwards and upwards, whilst having a deep respect for the history that grounds and gives us the gift of the present.
